Every MIA jewel arrives with a small work of art: a hand-painted ceramic piece bearing the face of MIA. It looks like a keepsake. It is a doorway.

We chose ceramic on purpose. Clay is humble — a material of the earth. To reveal its beauty and strength, it must be shaped with love and pass through fire. This little piece of art carries your own story of transformation.

The Designer
Imelda Favela designs what she believes
In 2015, in Los Cabos, Imelda founded MIA with one conviction: every woman needs to be reminded of her true worth. She named it MIA — “the chosen one.”
Her studio lives inside the Ivan Guaderrama Gallery, in San José del Cabo's Art District — a family of artists where art, craft, and technology have always been mixed. If you visit, it is often Imelda herself who receives you and tells you the heart behind each piece.
Every collection starts with a message, not a metal. From the emotion comes a hand-drawn sketch — signed, measured, imperfect and alive — and from the sketch, hands turn silver and pearl into the finished jewel. Love is the engine; that is why there is always a heart.

What your piece is made of — and how to keep it beautiful
Materials
- .925 sterling silver (select pieces in .950).
- Natural pearls — formed by the sea, each one singular in color and shape.
- Semiprecious stones: turquoise, amethyst, lapis lazuli, larimar. Also moissanite and Miyuki glass.
- 14k/18k gold and rose-gold plating over sterling silver.
We choose noble materials given by nature. The pearl is our center: no two are alike, and neither are you.
Care for your piece
- Keep it away from chemicals — perfume, lotions, sprays.
- Wipe it with its cloth after wearing to remove residue.
- Store it clean and dry. It may be washed with mild soap and water — dry it thoroughly.
